Challenge:

Our client in Stow, Ohio had an existing brick patio and steps but desired an expansion to accommodate a grill and firepit. Matching materials to the existing brick and adjusting the patio's grade posed significant challenges. Additionally, integrating the existing Boxwood and Japanese Maple Tree was a priority.

Our Solution:

We addressed the grade issue by using crushed river gravel and fill grade soil, ensuring stability for the expanded patio. Conduits were installed for gas and electric lines necessary for the fire pit and natural gas grill. Unilock's Brussels dimensional with Ledgestone coping was chosen for constructing the steps, grill/bar area, and fire pit. Granite countertops were installed for the grill/bar area.

To maintain continuity, we incorporated the original Boxwood and Japanese Maple Tree into new beds. Surrounding the patio, we added plants and beds, including a screening edge of Green Giant Arborvitae for privacy. Finally, we adjusted the lawn area's grade along the patio and walkway to seamlessly blend with the new landscape.
